Leveraging LinkedIn Connections for Fun & Profit

OK, so one day you look up and see you have one heck of a lot of connections in LinkedIn. First thought is “oh my, what if all those people actually promoted me to be Word-of-Mouth?” Duh. Oh my! Can you even fathom that? Second thought – “Gosh, even a handful of them might mean 5 X 600 each or 3,000 people”. Third thought – “How about one?”. “Connecting with 600 from one alliance/connection is even a handful, how?”
Leveraging, let’s follow this very simple path.
Click on your “connections”
Choose one you know with LOTS of connections (Honorable Yvonne Gamble)
Here are choices as to how to Leverage your relationship
- Contact her and set up a time to post on LinkedIn each week, then share posts
- Use her in one of your posts in a video (share screen and show her profile and say how wonderful she is)
- Look at her “mutual contacts” and contact them “Yvonne and I are connected to you. How about we zoom?”
- Look at her “connections” and explore who is worth meeting.

Here is what all this looks like using the “Mutual Contacts” choice:
Step One – go to your Connections
Step Two – choose your favorite connection
Step Three – decide how to leverage together. DO IT!
Leveraging alliances takes time, obviously. Consider this – if each one of your contacts knows at least 600 people, and if you become amazing in even ONE contact’s life. . . do you suppose she/he might tell their people? Chances are good. Paint all of that “worth the time”.
