PeaceFull LIVING Tip Of The Month: Starting a cleanse at home
Getting started on an at-home cleanse can be a daunting task. However, with the right guidance and preparation, it can be done safely and effectively.
The first step is to gather information to find the best approach for your lifestyle. Consider speaking to a health and wellness coach to learn more about your personal goals, ideal diet, and lifestyle adjustments that will help you be successful.
The second step is to focus on creating a plan. The more prepared you are, the more likely you are to follow through and stick with it. Make sure your plan includes realistic expectations of what you will eat and how many commitments are on your calendar during that time. It is helpful to keep your calendar as lean as possible on the cleanse, so you have time to focus on your own well-being. This isn’t the time to overload yourself with work and social engagements. Instead, use this time for planning and projects you want to complete.
Once you have your plan in place…
Clear out unhealthy and processed foods from your pantry and refrigerator. Stock your pantry with nutrient-dense foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes, bone broth, and whole grains. Purchase organic products for the duration of your cleanse to reduce the toxic load on your system.
Next, start drinking plenty of water throughout the day to begin flushing out toxins from your body. This is also a good time to reduce your caffeine intake so you don’t have severe headaches when you begin the cleanse.
Additionally, adding in light exercises like walking or yoga can help support the detoxification process by improving circulation and promoting lymphatic drainage.
Lastly, be sure to prioritize getting enough sleep each night in order for your body to properly rest before the next day’s activities. Taking these steps into consideration will provide a great foundation when starting an at-home cleanse program!
